YOUTH MINISTRY

The Morning Star Church of Christ (MSCC) Youth ministry provides an effective medium to engage and connect with the youth of the Church to provide a safe avenue to know Christ. The Youth ministry is an essential ministry that bonds formation, transformation, training, connection, and development of the youth in Christ. The Youth ministry facilitates, nurtures, and mobilizes the talents/gifts of youth (young boys and girls, young men and women) with the knowledge of the gospel.

The Youth ministry believes in God’s calling of the youth to be prepared adherents of Jesus Christ, endowed with the Holy Spirit, connected by the Word of God, built in the temperament of Christ, and advocating the kingdom of God. In the demands of adolescence, youth ministry demands patience, passion, compassion, and perseverance to walk devotedly with young boys and girls as they transition into adulthood. 1 Thessalonians 2: 7-8 asserts: but we were gentle among you, just as a nursing mother cherishes her own children. So, affectionately longing for you, we were well pleased to impart to you not only the gospel of God, but also our own lives, because you had become dear to us.”

The MSCC Youth ministry responds to the spiritual essentials of the youth by building trusting relationships, identifying their gifts/talents, responding to spirituality concerns, and fostering the desire to get closer and know to God. The ministry involves different activities, programs, creative concepts, and leading-edge technology. The Youth ministry is led by either a Youth Minister, Youth Pastor, or Youth Coordinator to prepare the youth for the future and engage them in leadership training and roles. Psalm 144:12 affirms: “may our sons in their youth be like full-grown plants, and our daughters like pillars destined to decorate a palace.”

The MSCC outreach program provides varieties of charitable, social, informative, spiritual and community enhancement activities for the local and neighboring vicinities. These outreach activities bring relief to those who are marginalized and in need; to achieve their God’s given capabilities, while ensuring their relationships with God through faith in our Lord, Jesus Christ remains unbroken.

The MSCC Outreach Ministry follows the declaration of our Lord, Jesus Christ in Matthew 25: 34-40:  Then the king will say to those on his right, Come, you who have been blessed by my Father! Inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world, because I was hungry, and you gave me something to eat. I was thirsty, and you gave me something to drink. I was a stranger, and you welcomed me. I was naked, and you clothed me. I was sick, and you took care of me. I was in prison, and you visited me. Then, the righteous will say to him, Lord, when did we see you hungry and give you something to eat, or thirsty and give you something to drink? When did we see you as a stranger and welcomed you, or see you naked and clothe you?  When did we see you sick or in prison, and visit you? The king will answer them, I tell all of you with certainty, since you did it for one of the least important of these brothers/sisters of mine; you did it for me.”

WELFARE MINISTRY

The Morning Star Church of Christ (MSCC) Welfare Ministry is aimed at members of the local church to be self-sufficient and cater to the needs of the disadvantaged within the body of Christ. The Welfare Ministry cares for both the material and spiritual necessities of its adherents. The Welfare Ministry provide assistance in agreement with biblical directives for love, compassion, and care for the deprived. Jesus Christ distinguishes His interest with that of suffering humankind. He is our substitute and guarantee because He stands in the place of humanity, so that He is affected by His weakest supporter. If men/women play their roles as faithful stewards of the Lord’s assets, He assures us that there would be no cry for bread, no poverty, no exposure, no one in want.

Similarly to the Outreach Ministry, the Welfare Ministry equally follows the avowal of our Lord, Jesus Christ in Matthew 25: 34-40:  Then the king will say to those on his right, Come, you who have been blessed by my Father!

MUSIC MINISTRY

The Music Ministry is one of the most vivacious and revered ministries in the Church and must be regarded as a sanctified office and position. The essential components of the Music Ministry are to encourage, elevate, inspire, and embolden the Church and body of Christ through praise, songs, and worship. Music is a gift of God, a part of the creation, and all nature sings. Music enhances and mirrors the order, magnificence, and multiplicity of God’s creation. The creations of God have always sung since inception. Moses and the people of Israel sang a song to the Lord after the victory and escape from Pharaoh’s Armies and crossing the Red Sea (Exodus 15: 1-18). In the early Church, singing was part of Israel’s orthodox worship in both the temple and tabernacle (1 Chronicles. 6: 31-32).

The Morning Star Church of Christ (MSCC) Music Ministry encompasses all other ministries and membership appointments must be approved and blessed. The MSCC Music Ministry is managed and led by a Music Minister, a Music Pastor, or a Music Director. Adherents of the Music Ministry must endeavor to live according to God’s calling and be in oneness of spirit and mind as mandated by the word of God. The Book of Psalms is an anthology of individual songs, prayers, and assumes historic testament that in all circumstances (good and bad); Christians have traditionally raised their voices in songs to the living God. In Matthew 26:30 and after the Lord’s Supper, Jesus and his disciples sang before they departed to Mount of Olives.

The MSCC Music Ministry is vital to the entire worship of the Church as it sets the atmosphere for praise and worship, ambience to receive/proclaim the gospel, embrace the promise of salvation, and awaken believers/non-believers to hear the Word of God. A divine Music Ministry can calibrate the hearts of the people correctly, aligns the souls of unbelievers to accept Jesus Christ, and elevates believers into celestial worship of God. Singing is particularly corporate and stimulates corporate worship and prayers.

The MSCC Music Ministry facilitates worship, fellowship, inspiration and outreach through a steadied mix of praise and worship songs. According to Job 38: 7,while the morning stars sang together, all the divine beings shouted joyfully”. Revelation 5:13 declares: “every creature in heaven, on earth, under the earth, and on the sea, and everything that is in them, sings to the one who sits on the throne and to the lamb.” Apostle Paul directed the Colossians in Colossians 3: 16: “let the word of Christ inhabit you richly with wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another with psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs, and singing to God with gratitude in your hearts.”
